Best Dishwasher I've Owned

I'm loving my Bosch dishwasher primarily because it cleans my dishes better than any I've had previously and it is very quiet. I have an open concept kitchen with vaulted ceilings and I can't hear it running. I find that I get the best results when using the remote start features via the app.

Our old Bosch needed replacement after 15 years. This new one, an equivalent model to the old, works just the same: quiet, simple to run, and cleans perfectly. I'm getting used to the third rack for utensils and silverware--takes a bit more time. We use stemmed glassware for wine and the only shortcoming is that the folding rack is difficult and doesn't hold as many glasses as the old one.

Replaced Previous generation 500 series

Old one failed, was happy with that one, replaced it with a new 500 series. New one went cheap on the controls, requires the app to set a delay start, has some annoying features (no heated dry if it auto opens the door?). Seems to work ok, overall a regression on the design though. I probably wouldnt have bought it if I had known prior to purchasing the unit.

New Dishwasher

While there are some aspects of the new dishwasher that we really like, such as the top drawer and auto-open function, we don't like how app-dependent it is. We can only run our desired cycle settings through the app and we often load the dishwasher and forget to run it. We wish we could just press 'start' on the machine rather than having to go through the app on our phones to start the cycle.

I love the dishwasher itself and how you can arrange your dishes. The top tray to hold silverware can expand to hold larger utensils, tongs, lids, etc. I did not like that I had to download the app to find the user's manual. The app is convenient though if you forget to start the dishwasher while you're at home. When you manually want to use it, the lights do not light up on top to know what your selection was so that's confusing to me though this could be user error but I have not found an option for the lights to light up in the user's manual, leading me to use the app to start the dishwasher more than manually starting it. I also do not like that in order to use it on delay, you have to use the app to set the delay. I wish it was an option manually.

Recirculation pump failure

We had to have the recirculation pump replaced within 9 months of owning the appliance. Since the appliance repair folks assumed something got sucked in the impeller, warranty wouldn't cover the repair. Work was done, nothing was found stuck in the pump and the repair folks took the old pump apart and found one of the inner impeller rings not in a normal place. Currently working through Bosch support to try and get my money refunded.

not a great start

Previously purchased Bosch items have worked great - however recently bought microwave, dishwasher, oven and stove top at same time adn had installed. Microwave failed immediately adn needed to be replace. Dishwasher developed issues and is in teh process of getting "board" replace and oven is occasionally and persistently throwing a code that requires me to reset sx at breaker box.

Honestly it took me two weeks and a few user mistakes before I fully understood how it worked. I guess I should have read the instructions. It is so quiet that I did not realize it was not on. Washes great and auto dry pops the door open to allow steam out.

I just replaced my 23 year old Bosch dishwasher with the new 500 series with air dry I love this appliance for several reasons 1) very stylish looking 2) it's so quiet, there is a red indicator light that shines on the floor when it's on 3) the 3rd upper rack is so convenient for little items and 4) when done, the air dry pops the door open ., no more waking up in the middle of the night with the beeping of the dishwasher

I'm still getting used to the best way to load this particular dishwasher, but learning. Challenges so far: everything is sopping wet still when the cycle is over. The "Extra Dry" setting is enabled, but there's still a significant amount of water, especially on the third/upper tray. Also, I have needed to re-wash two items due to a little bit of food residue not getting cleaned.

We have found that all of our Bosch appliances are mediocre at best. The dishwasher is no exception. There is no setting that dries the dishes when they are done, so they come out soaking wet. I have found that many of them still have food on them as well. Not impressed.

This dishwasher is great because I love how quiet it is and that there's a feature for it to pop open when it's done to promote better drying. I took off a star because I've found it doesn't hold as much bigger items as my older dishwashers, which has proven to be frustrating on several occasions. It's probably that the third top rack--that initially seems like a nice idea--would be better served making more room on the bottom rack for bigger items.

Cleans and Dries really well

We bought our dishwasher about a month ago. So far we have been really happy with it. Even our 10-year old commented that the dishes are all dry (in our old machine the plastic dishes were always wet). It took a minute to get used to controlling the machine with the Home Connect app but now it's nice to be able to explore the controls from my phone. We really like our new dishwasher.

Good buy, great app

After a year of use, the dishwasher cleans our dishes great everytime. I recently downloaded the app and found a lot more features. I really like the statistics about water and power usage. I was able to choose a different cycle that significantly reduced my water usage and still kept my dishes clean. The amount of customization is limited though. Bosch could expand on this and allow more customization to the cycles based on the size of the load and how well they get clean. Another little annoying thing is when you initially select a cycle on the dishwasher and then want to change it before starting it, it freezes up every time. I have to reset it and wait a few minutes for it to come back.

Gets dishes clean, but you have to use a rinse formula to get everything dry-ish. Long Cycle, but I think that's standard these days. You are basically forced to add WiFi capability to manage cycles and features. Using the buttons requires an internet search for the manual and is not user-friendly. Love the top rack but don't have the patience to lay all the silverware in the slots - we mostly use if for cooking utensils. Bought a separate set of baskets for the silverware.

Amazing performance and so quiet!

We replaced an older and very reliable Bosch that was damaged due to a power surge. There was no question we wanted another Bosch, and this model has both surprised and pleased us in every way. The new third rack design is great and very flexible for both small dishes and lots get utensils. The ability to raise and lower each side is great. The unit cleans even the worst dishes and does so very quietly. Out kitchen is open to the dining and living area, and we cannot hear the dishwasher running. The drying on this unit, combined with the AutoAir feature that opens the door at the end of the cycle, gives much improved drying results over our prior model. I also like the app connectivity and the additional options available--something I thought I would not use. This dishwasher is an all around winner, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for quiet yet excellent performance

Bosch rated the best? NO to that

Bought a new high-price dishwasher to replace a 5 year old that leaked under the island and the flooring. Bosch was installed after flooring and island were replaced and ran fine for 6 months (machine selected based on Consumer Reports). The leak detector mechanism worked as advertised and the machine stopped working. That was October 15th, after four visits and 2 technicians (no actual fix), the same machine had a water valve fail and leaked water under the brand new island and under the floors. Bosch is asking for ridiculous information and saying "maybe you should check with your plumber". So, no repair, no replacement and flora and island are warped and rotting. We will never buy another Bosch product.

I returned a Kitcheaide one for the Bosch 500 Dishwasher and I am so happy I did. It is quiet and the dishes, pots and pans are so clean. I had a problem with it in the beginning as the water did not totally leave after fiishing I was in warranty and Bosch repair came out immediately and repaired it. I recommend it.

We are constantly using the dishwasher! Being able to use the app to do a quick rinse of dishes, or check that we remembered to start the wash on the road is super helpful. We also love the red light reminding us the washer is going (because it is so quiet) and the auto dry feature so we don't have to worry about mold when we leave for the weekend and forget to pop open the dishwasher. So glad we did our research and purchased this unit!

Still getting to know it

This is a very nice dishwasher. Lots of bells and whistles. I have not used the app with it yet, but my girlfriend loves it, especially getting a notification when it has finished. It gets dishes really clean. I do like the top rack for utensils. It's so much better than just a little basket for them. I also love how the middle rack is height adjustable. The only thing I woukd change would be the layout/configuration of the racks and dish dividers or to make them more adjustable. But overall, I love this machine. If it lasts a long time, as I feel it will, I would definitely buy it again, so only time will tell on that. It's obvious that Bosch designers and engineers really put a lot of thought and consideration into every aspect of this appliance.

All of my old dishwashers I had to practically wash the dishes before putting them in the machine. So I was skeptical when the manual said to just put them in without a lot of washing. But it works wonderfully! The other great feature I love is the Air dry. Dishes are dry and spotless. Love it.

Great Appliance

This is our second Bosch Dishwasher. Our first was about 20 years old. This dishwasher is as quiet as our first one. I really like the feature of the automatic air dry with the door opening after the wash cycle. The dishes have come out clean every time. The thing I miss is the light indicating the dishes are clean.

Excellent Quality, but painful to change settings

We were a bit surprised when our prior Bosch died in about 7 years however. We love our new Bosch and its performing like you'd expect. My only gripe with this model is the difficulty changing settings - favourite to Normal, to 60 min - its very confusing. Perhaps its easier if you download the app - I refuse to have companies track my behaviour and spam me to use basic services that I expect to use without a mobile app. Irritating.

This is our second Bosch dishwasher, the first one lasted 19 years, which is unheard of any appliance! Love the extra top rack for oversized cookware like spatulas; if possible it is even more quiet than our first dishwasher with a red light indicator on the floor so you know it's running ,lots of ways to load dishes and pots with adjustable tines. Of course it looks beautiful and cleans dishes Perry!

Bosch 500 dishwasher

We've been in our new home now 6 months. We love our Bosch dishwasher! It is so very quiet we never hear it running. The dishes are always clean. If there is a lot of plastic, things are pretty damp inside but the dishes are dry. I do wish the silverware caddy were a bit larger. Overall we give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

Amazing DIshwasher

It's been a month of daily use with our new 500 and all I can say is WOW. My wife and I literally had no idea what a proper dishwasher was before this. We made do with a GE model for 10 years and many repairs. It never really cleaned. The Bosch is increbible in comparison. Cleans dirty dishes, does so quietly, without leaking at the door seam! Nice features via the app and wifi controls. Never thought I'd use them but I do. We are very pleased.

I bought a Bosch series 500 on the clearance floor at Nebraska Home Furniture. When it arrived and was installed I was disappointed that it didn't work :( I called Bosch as it was under warranty and they had a tech to my home within 24 hrs who quickly fixed a cable that had come unclipped and we were in business! The dishwasher works great and is very quiet and looks elegant in my kitchen.

Bosch 500 Series Dishwasher Success

It took me a good long while to research the purchase of a new dishwasher, but I am happy to say I am very confident I made the best decision possible. The unit itself does as advertised across all platforms (google reviews, Consumer Reports), above and beyond. While the drying function only rated as ok, I have found it to be very effective. What helps, is that the door automatically opens when the cycle has finished, allowing a further air dry. There is no odor or stains. This is not only the best dishwasher I have ever purchased (my third one), but the most efficient appliance in general. I could not be happier.

Really do love Bosch appliances. This is our second dishwasher from them as the other was left at our previous home. This one is fairly the same, though, some of the options (like delayed time) is not on this DW. You can use the app to connect with it and select delayed times from the app. Not as convenient, but still available. I do like that the app will let you know when the DW is done. The washer itself cleans well, but you definitely need to have the Finish rinse aide to make sure it all gets clean and spotless. Love the AirDry option too!

No light to show that dishes are clean!

The dishwsher does a good job lf cleaning the dishes. A red light shines on the floor while the cycle is running but it just goes out when the dishes are done. It should show a white light to indicate that the dishes are clean.

I had a Bosch dishwasher for 12 and a half years (still working great) I moved and immediately bougt a Bosch dishwasher. It is super quiet, cleans great and dries perfectly without using heat! No spots either. Bosch is the ONLY dishwasher I will buy.

Good appearance, mimimal noise level when in operation, cleans dishes fairly well if rinsed prior ro putting in dishwasher. Would prefer better drying. I leave the dishes and utensils in for a day or so and still need to dry them.

With the third rack for cutlery and the setup, it is very large and takes quite a number of dishes. It runs very quietly. I really have to almost put my ear to it, to hear it going. And all of the dishes are so clean.
