I also love being able to monitor and control it from my phone. I'm split 50/50 on this refrigerator. There are some things I really like and some things that make me wish I would have gone a different direction. I love the clean look of black stainless and that it doesn't show fingerprints like regular stainless. My husband loves the crushed ice maker and I love the smart capabilities. However sometimes ice gets stuck in the chute and then melts inside the fridge. I probably should have gotten a bigger fridge as we have learned you cannot pack this one full or the things in the door do not stay cold. I have always kept our milk in the door going through a gallon and a half a week I have never had a gallon go bad but I have had one go completely sour and one be questionable after having this fridge. While it may be a new learning curve for us how to efficiently pack this fridge I sometimes regret not getting a bigger one simply to have it match our other appliances.

We needed a new refrigerator; the ice maker on our Samsung was repaired TWICE, and still didn't work. The cherry on the sundae was when we returned home from vacation, only to find our fridge dead after 7 years. I researched a couple of reputable sites, and found that owners of Bosch refrigerators had higher satisfaction than many other brands, particularly when it came to ice production. We made the purchase and have been very happy with the size/layout of the interior, as well as the consistent ice production. The Bosch feels like it is well made. Two thumbs up!

One thing that prevented me from giving it a five star is that sometimes when the ice tray is full, it tends to leak a bit. Overall the functionality of this refrigerator is great. Fantastic! The double doors with the freezer on the bottom works really great for us. The lighting and the controls with temperture readings is wonderful. Only thing to improve is to have "lighted buttons" for the water, cubes, crushed ice, lock etc. Not just a "light" below each button. I can not read the buttons at night!

Ice Maker Is Frustrating

I like the refrigerator but the ice maker stops making crushed ice once a month or so. I have had to take out the ice bucket and empty it, clean it out and put it back in. That always worked until this time and now it's not making ice at all. I have tried reaching out to Bosch but I only get "call a service rep" of course. I'm just looking for someone to help me trouble shoot before spending a lot of money. I'm also having a problem getting the water filter unscrewed. I don't mind trying to fix things but it would be nice to get some help from Bosch.

1. There is always a water in the trays that are below the icemaker. I have to keep sponges under the items in the trays to soak up the water. There are three levels and all of them fill with water. 2. If I dispense cubes, I can't go back to crushed without running a dishtowel through the ice chute. 3. The little slideout tray on the right sags on one side 4. Other than that, I like it, but the water problem is annoying. I wouldn't buy another one.

The finish seems to scratch off easily. There are a couple of marks on the door handle and the freezer handle. I wish the water dispenser area had more height to it as some water bottles don't fit. I like the space and freezer drawers. I like the color and style of it.

Out old refrigerator finally gave up and we loved the look of the black stainless Bosch had. The sales person said it was the only one that was black all the way through and wouldn't scratch off like some of the other brands. It looks great in our kitchen AND fruit and vegetables stay fresh 2 to 3 times as long as our previous fridge. This is super helpful for our lifestyle and much easier on the pocket book. Maybe next we'll get the oven or dishwasher.

Ice making intermittent

We purchased this style for fridge / freezer because the ice making claims were one of the top features of this appliance. We use ice daily, and this feature was probably the most appealing. However, since installation, it has failed to make ice on 5 occasions. We have a service engineer coming next week to look at it. We have had to purchase a countertop ice maker as an interim solution. Not happy on a kitchen appliance that cost over $3200.

Hope it lasts as long as our old refrigerator that was a Bosch too and lasted for over 20yrs. As in our washer & dryer that still run great and we have had them for over 23 yrs. But, I got to say we will be replaceing our Bosch dishwasher soon; been with us at least 18 yrs and that's a good run, best dishwasher we ever had. Our new refrigerator has lots of room, everything is kept cold and have no complaints about our new one.

Solid, handsome but nagging issues

Like the black stainless steel, solidness, and interior function. However, it's had small problems which we've been unable to fix because no certified Bosch repair person is nearby. Water leak near ice machine, poor door alignment and variations in freezer temp (stuff seems partly frozen at top) are among the concerns .

We decided to go with a Bosch over another brand because of it's reputation. For the money we spent pretty disappointed at this pint. We have to close the right door first then then close the left. If not done in this order the left door pops open. The ice maker switchs from cubed to crush without touching anything. The bottle fill only has one setting. The previous brand we had we could adjust the quality. Lastly the ice maker does not make as much as what the person at Home Depot believed it would make. We should have gone with the other brand we were looking into for the money we spent. It should have an additional light in the upper inside. It is very dark in that area. We do have service coming out at so somepoint to look at the issues. As I said before for the money we spent it should work from the start correctly. We do like that the freezer door closes automatically and the light in the water dispenser.

So far we love this fridge! I would like to give a suggestion though. We actually wanted the 800 series but it is too tall for our space so e had to get this one. We do love it but would have preferred the 800 series with the french doors and 2 drawers. Poor interior lighting, door closing very hard

The refrigerator I purchased was not plugged in at the store. When it was delivered and loaded with food, the LED lighting strips were blocked from illuminating the upper left corner of the fridge. Also the door with the magnetic strip requires the right hand door be slammed shut. If not it remains ajar, and the alarm comes on, but if you leave the kitchen or the home, you can lose all the food in the fridge. Buyer beware.

Would not buy again. The right hand door does not always close. The door alarm is so quiet that unless you are standing right in front of the refrigerator you will not hear it. I called Bosch and was told there was no way to increaes the volume and that if I had them send out a tech to check the door that if it was not a manufacture defict that I would be charged for the service call. I find that very poor customer service on a brand new refrigerator. the left door closes well, but the right has to have more force.

Buyer Beware!

Do your research before buying this Bosch 500 series. $3500 spent, not even two years old and the "fastest ice machine" has broken - twice. First time was just past warranty and an entire new ice system was needed. Now, about eight months later, that entire new ice system is BROKEN. Checked reviews and this is a common problem. Bosch, it is shameful for you not to recall/refund/stand my your appliance. Why should I be out money, time and ice (!) when my refrigerator is not even 2 years old.
